1. Re-read the Phases of Learning section of the chapter on the van Hiele levels so we may discuss these further. Try some of the tasks that are suggested. Consider where the activities/problems/tasks that you discussed on Tuesday could be placed within the Phases of Learning.
2. Complete the
geoboard
triangle/quadrilateral activity and the Core-Plus space-shape activity.
3. Read
chapter 2 in Every Minute Counts (the required text for the
course).
Many aspects of this chapter deal with asking questions in a classroom
setting, but the techniques can be used in a small group setting as
well. Write 1 - 2 pages discussing aspects of the reading
that you
considered relevant to your teaching at Lafayette.
