3. Watch Jo Boaler's video on teaching and learning and the Common Core standards.

4. Read Malcolm Gladwell's chapter on geniuses.

5. Read Moving Students to "the Why?", an article from NCTM's Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School. Complete the problem in Figure 1 prior to reading the article so the student work and responses can be read meaningfully. Bring your work to class to discuss.
