1. Complete items 1-22 on the survey of your beliefs about mathematics and teaching and learning. Items 22-24 should be answered separately in a Word document or equivalent and emailed to me.

2. Read the course syllabus thoroughly. Make notes of any questions and be prepared to discuss the course expectations and policies.

3. Read the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice. Following that, read the Vignette Analysis Activity handout and respond to questions 1-8 at the end in a Word document or equivalent. I would expect the total response length to be 3-5 pages at a minimum.

4. Complete the Phillips Exeter Academy introductory problem set.
