Using virtual manipulatives for solving
equations.
In this lesson students will be using algebra tiles to factor
trinomial equations.
Dena
Destino Buffalo Public Schools
The student will be able to use algebra tiles to add and subtract
polynomials.
The students are using Sketchpad for
the review of the properties of triangles.
The first of two Lesson on the TI
inspire
The second lesson on the unit circle.
The Ball Bounce - A three-day lesson plan exploring the “Gravitational
Constant” using the CBR.
Students will practice moving directly from one representation
(situation, table, graph, rule) to another in the representation web.
Students will utilize the capabilities of the graphing calculator to
quickly display each representation which in turn creates a quick
visual assessment for the student.
Mathematical Modeling with a Temperature Probe and a TI84
This lesson uses Geometer’s Sketchpad to allow students to investigate
the relationship between the number of sides of a polygon and the sum
of the polygon’s interior angles. This lesson can be followed by
a more in depth study of polygons and the number of triangles formed
when breaking them up along with an investigation of the sum of the
exterior angles.
Students will be able to describe the similarities and differences
among linear graphs.
They will also be able to write a description of the family.
At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
Describe the equation of any linear line
located on a coordinate grid
Evaluate what the data means between points on a
graph
Analyze data using graphs
Write / verbalize “stories” shown in various graphs
Students will be able to complete math related riddles and questions
using their knowledge of mathematics
