The Field Experience

 

As a part of this course you are required to complete 45 hours of field experience. This includes: observation, participation and tutoring.

 

15 Hours must come from Lafayette high school, and 10 hours from Hoover Middle, American Indian Magnet, Campus West, and Starpoint middle. You must do at least one observation at each of these schools.

 

Code of Conduct

 

•    You are guests of the school district. If you fail to meet your responsibilities the school has the right to bar you from the experience at any time.

 

The Student Responsibility

 

•    Be on time and be involved.

•    Act in a professional manner at all times.

•    Always be polite and courteous to all school personal.

•    Dress in an appropriate manner.

 

Dress Code

 

•     Dress for success. The list below incorporates dress code rules that should be observed at all PDS schools.

  ·  No hoods

  ·  No sleeveless tops

  ·  No midriffs showing

  ·  No spaghetti straps

  ·  No backless shoes

  ·  No hats, headbands, etc.

 

Zero tolerance. If the school reports that you are acting unprofessionally then you will receive a zero for the field experience.
