Purpose of the
Course To prepare reflective Practitioners
for classrooms of diverse learners. Students reflect and examine their
motivations for becoming mathematics teachers.
Book: All materials will be provided at: http://math.buffalostate.edu/~giambrtm/. You will also need a three-ring notebook. You will need access to a computer with an Internet connection and Internet explorer. If you do not have one, the Mac lab in Bishop is open every day. Computers are also available in the library.
Evaluation:
Field Experience 60%
Classroom
Tests 20%
Final Report 20%
You are expected to complete assignments on your own. No collusion is permitted on homework, projects, and tests. The penalty for collusion is a zero for that assignment or project. If you are unable to take a test a notice of 2 hours must be given. Documentation is required.
Attendance is mandatory. Your final grade will be multiplied by (N-A)/(N-1)
where A is the number of classes you do not attend and N is the number of class
meetings.

As a part of this course you
are required to complete 45 hours of field experience. This includes:
observation, participation and tutoring.
