Where
to Get Java Scripts
This site
is
filled with javas for all areas of mathematics. There is also
information
about the project and purching materials.
The
Dynamical
Systems and Technology Project at Boston University
At this site
there are
a
number of Java applets available for use in teaching ideas concerning
chaos
and fractals. There are also several interactive papers designed to
help
teachers and students understand the mathematics behind such topics as
iterated
function systems (the chaos game) and the Mandelbrot and Julia sets.
This site
offers
an outstanding selection of Java and interactive pages. The level
of
mathematics covers the spectrum from Kindergarten to Graduate level.
Each
page on this site is marked with the appropriate level of difficulty to make searching easier.
The Gallery
consists of interactive multimedia learning units on various issues in
the
college level. Most units are Java applets and some are
graphical
supplements or other programs.
This website is very helpful in
explaining the usefullness of Java
Applets
in the classroom. Java applets can help create an interactive
environment
of "learning by doing." A few examples of where Java is used are
given,
mostly in mathematics and science.
The purpose of this site is to
serve as a resource for things,
simple
but curious, related to mathematics and to spark an interest in the
beauty
of mathematics. There are many interesting links and articles
here,
related to various topics in math.
This site is from the 2001 NCTM conference that skillfully
uses
Java Applets to teach about fractions. There are links to other
pages
here also.
Hand Made Manipulative
Instructions
This page gives you
instructions
and print out sheets for graph paper, algebra tile-like cutouts,
pattern
blocks, etc. There are also instructions that go with each link.
Educational Java Programs
This Web site contains Java
applets whose purpose is to be used as
tools
to help and enhance the education of children. Most of the
applets
are mathematics, with one
biology
link, and a music link coming.
E-Examples
This site gives applet examples
of some of the NCTM Principles and
Standards
for all of the grade levels.

This site is cool! :) The

The
Gizmos teach topics ranging from Elementary Algebra to Precalculus.
The
program used here is Shockwave and not Java.
