The Dynamical Systems and Technology Project at Boston University

At this site there are a number of Java applets available for use in teaching ideas concerning chaos and fractals. There are also several interactive papers designed to help teachers and students understand the mathematics behind such topics as iterated function systems (the chaos game) and the Mandelbrot and Julia sets.

This site offers an outstanding selection of Java and interactive pages.  The level of mathematics covers the spectrum from Kindergarten to Graduate level.  Each page on this site is marked with the appropriate level of difficulty to make searching easier.

Maths Online Gallery

The Gallery consists of interactive multimedia learning units on various issues in the college level.  Most units are Java applets and some are graphical supplements or other programs.

Java Applets in Education

This website is very helpful in explaining the usefullness of Java Applets in the classroom.  Java applets can help create an interactive environment of "learning by doing."  A few examples of where Java is used are given, mostly in mathematics and science.

Hand Made Manipulative Instructions

This page gives you instructions and print out sheets for graph paper, algebra tile-like cutouts, pattern blocks, etc.  There are also instructions that go with each link.

Educational Java Programs    

This Web site contains Java applets whose purpose is to be used as tools to help and enhance the education of children.  Most of the applets are mathematics, with one biology link, and a music link coming.

E-Examples

This site gives applet examples of some of the NCTM Principles and Standards for all of the grade levels.

Multimedia - ExploreMath.com

This site is cool! :)  The interactive applets called Gizmos.  The Gizmos teach topics ranging from Elementary Algebra to Precalculus.  The program used here is Shockwave and not Java.
